Carrie will print it out, mark your favorite scripture, and include your testimony inside the Book of Mormon to give to one of the Laurels at the beginning of May. The Young Women who will be receiving one of these books are: Hannah Abbott, Nicole Shumway, and Katelyn Smith. Thank you for your willingness to take a few minutes of your day to do this. It will be a great opportunity to share with these young women a little about yourself, and we hope it will be a treasured gift for them.

*Please join us this Thursday for our Relief Society Birthday Party March 24^th at 6:30 p.m. This will be a lovely evening of friends, dinner, and a short program. We will be celebrating the Relief Society’s birthday. Children’s class provided. We hope you can come!

*We are offering books to help us memorize the Living Christ. They are made from printed photos and put into a photo keeper book. We are currently looking into better pricing for the photo prints. We will be sending out an email later today with the actual price per book. Please get your money to Allison Owen by next Sunday March 27th or your books will not be ordered! (If you have already paid for your books, you will be refunded the difference!) If you didn't get to sign up at church and would still like to order a book, please let Allison Owen know ASAP! Thanks!

TREK- Parents of youth ages 14-18 that are going on Trek: Trek money is due by March 27th. It is $50 per person attending. To pay this money, fill out a donation slip and under “Other” put “Trek” and the name of the youth that you are paying for. The Bishop would like to make sure that if there are financial concerns for your family that you talk to him. We don’t want anyone to miss out on this wonderful experience. *The Humanitarian Department is in great need of full and twin-sized quilts. We would encourage anyone who can to donate quilts. You can get fabric and yarn for the quilts at from the Humanitarian Service Room at Deseret Industries in American Fork. All you would have to provide would be the batting. Relief Society Meeting-- Relief Society Dinner March 24^th 6:30.

We will be meeting to celebrate the history of Relief Society. Please join us for dinner and a fun evening.

Back to the Basics Challenge-

In an article in the Friend, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland said, "Children, you can make your prayers more meaningful by picturing Heavenly Father as you pray. Picture him right in the room with you, and talk to him the way you would talk to a loving father. It is also important that you pray out loud. I think that when we say the words, it means more to us, and it means more to God. Silent prayers are good, too, but you will gain a great deal by hearing from your own lips the words you are saying to your Father in Heaven. It will help you concentrate more easily."

Sister Mary Jane Woodger made a similar statement. She said, "I have found there is great power in praying aloud... Though the Lord hears and answers all prayers, both silent and spoken, I have found that vocal prayer is especially powerful because it helps me concentrate my thoughts."

In March, we invite you to make your prayers more meaningful and more powerful by praying aloud. Each day, find a quiet spot where you can converse aloud with Heavenly Father. Reflect on these prayers and see what you have gained through praying aloud.

Visiting Teaching-- God has given the women of this church a work to do in building his kingdom – which is, first, to teach the gospel to the world; second, to strengthen the membership of the church; and, third, to carry forward the work for the dead. Know that you are daughters of God, children with a divine birthright. Walk in the sun with your heads high, knowing that you are loved and honored, that you are a part of his kingdom, and that there is for you a great work to be done which cannot be left to others. -Gordon B. Relief Society Activity

Our next evening Relief Society Meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 24th at 7:00 p.m. It will be a “Service Swap”. What’s a “Service Swap” you ask. We will be playing a game and winning acts of service provided by us! So please bring an act of service wrapped or in a gift bag to be exchanged that night. If it’s a commitment for a future act of service, please write the description of the service on a notecard, along with your name. Or you can bring the actual item wrapped. We will then exchange the items by playing a game. Kind of like a ‘white elephant’ exchange, there could be trades, and steals, and the fun part comes when someone snatches your service won and hands you another. This should be a lot of fun! We’re looking forward to seeing you all there! In February we invite you to look for simple acts of kindness you can do each day. A kind word, a smile, a friendly wave, a listening ear, a thank you, and other simple gestures take very little effort but do a lot to brighten the lives of those around us. As you continue to study the New Testament, look for ways the Savior interacted with others. Pray to be filled with the love of Christ and try to emulate His example.

4. Choir practice- Sunday 3:15-4:00 at the Gibsons. Sopranos are especially needed, however, the alto section has diminished as well. Please join us and share your talents!

5. Thursday, Feb. 24th at 7:00 p.m. will be our Service Swap at the church. A service swap will be a fun way for us to share our talents and creativity in serving one another. We would like each sister to bring one item of service they would be willing to donate to another sister. Some ideas might be sewing badges on a scout uniform, tutoring, a baked item, homemade cards, hair accessories or braiding, a FHE treat, homemade jam, or a commitment for future service (watching children while sisters visit the temple). Be creative! Please bring your act of service wrapped that night. We will be "swapping" the service in an entertaining way. If your item is a future act of service, please bring a description of the service wrapped that evening.

**Congrats to Leah and Brody Kinder on the birth of their baby girl. They named her Paisley Ann, and she weighed 7 lbs 15 oz, and was 20 in. long. Mom and baby are doing great!

A service auction will be a fun way for us to share our talents and creativity in serving one another. We will be sending a sign up sheet around for you to sign what service you'd be willing to donate (it should all be service---no money). Some ideas might be sewing badges on a scout uniform, tutoring, baked item, homemade cards, FHE treat, homemade jam. Be creative! We have so many talents in this ward! The items will be "auctioned" off the evening of Relief Society. These acts of service can be pre-made (like jam), or a commitment for future service (watch your children while you visit the temple). So look for the sign-up sheets, we'll make sure it makes it to each auxiliary. This is going to be super fun!!!
